IPL 2023: Virat Kohli in dias again, fined 10% of match fee in RCB vs CSK clash; says reports
Following RCB's match against CSK in IPL 2023, Virat Kohli was fined 10% of his match funding...

Digital Desk: Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was fined 10% of his match fees following the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Monday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

According to the Board for Cricket Control in India (BCCI), Kohli was found guilty of "breaching the IPL code of conduct" after RCB lost by eight runs to the four-time winners. The advisory issued by BCCI included that "RCB batter Virat Kohli has been fined 10% of his match fee for violating the IPL Code of Conduct during the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru."

"Mr. Kohli agreed to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct," as per the statement.

While it was not directly specified in the warning, the fine was most likely levied as a result of Kohli's violent celebrations following CSK batter Shivam Dube's layoff. Dube scored 52 runs in 26 balls before being bowled out by RCB fast bowler Wayne Parnell.

The IPL statement made no further mention of the incident that resulted in the code of conduct infraction.

Virat Kohli did not have a good game against Chennai Super Kings. Kohli got unlucky after scoring a boundary against Akash Singh when the ball hit him off the bat and ricocheted into the stumps, forcing him to trudge back to the dugout in the first over of a 227-run chase.

On April 20, RCB will face Punjab Kings at Mohali.
