Who in IPL history has scored the most hundreds?

A total of 87 century have been made in the Indian Premier League, dating back to the league's inaugural match in 2008, when Brendon McCullum of the Kolkata Knight Riders thrashed the Royal Challengers Bangalore by 158 runs to 73 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

With eight hundreds, Kohli owns the overall record. His former RCB teammate Chris Gayle is in second place with six triple-figure scores, including his 175 against Pune Warriors India, which is also the greatest score by a hitter in an IPL innings. At thirty balls, it was also the fastest IPL century. David Warner, Shane Watson and KL Rahul have four hundreds each to their name while AB de Villiers, Sanju Samson and Shubman Gill had three.

With 12 hundreds from nine players in 2023—Gill with three and Kohli with two—that season set a record for the most hundreds in an IPL season. The lowest number of hundreds in a single season, however, came in 2009 with two. In the 2009 season, Manish Pandey became the first Indian batsman to hit an IPL century, accomplishing it for RCB.

Twelve batters from Punjab Kings, the previous Kings XI Punjab, have scored fourteen hundreds for the 2014 finalists, making them the side with the most centuries overall. Though they are split among seven hitters, the Rajasthan Royals' roster contains 14 hundreds as well.
