Virat Kohli didn't travel with India squad to Thiruvananthapuram for warm-up match against Netherlands; Here’s why

Digital Desk: The Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, arrived in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday evening for their second and final warm-up match before the start of the ODI World Cup. Former captain Virat Kohli was notably absent. Virat had to separate from the rest of the Indian team due to a "personal emergency" while the others boarded a special flight from Guwahati for a 4-hour trip to Thiruvananthapuram.

According to a Cricbuzz story citing BCCI sources and a team official, the veteran batter had to fly to Mumbai for personal reasons. The outlet without mentioning a time frame quoted the source as saying "Virat will rejoin the team soon,"

The Indian team's journey to the 2023 World Cup will begin on October 8 against Australia after their warm-up match against the Netherlands tomorrow. During the recently finished 3-match ODI series, India recently defeated the Kangaroos 2-1 at home. 

Rain is probably going to ruin India's chances during the second warm-up game on October 3 at the Greenfield stadium, much like their previous match in Guwahati. 

In Thiruvananthapuram on October 3, during the day, there is a 97% chance of rain and a 46% probability of rain, according to Accuweather. Additionally, there is a 91% chance of nighttime rainfall, and both the maximum and lowest temperatures are forecast to be in the range of 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.
