    Volleyball Federation of India Announces the Inaugural Season of Indian Volleyball League
    Digital Desk: The Volleyball Federation of India has announced the Indian Volleyball League debut season (IVL). The IVL, which is expected to begin in June or July 2022, will be the country's premier volleyball league, sanctioned by both Asian Volleyball Confederation and the International Volleyball Federation.

    Reportedly, six to eight new franchisees representing various cities across India are also proposed by the IVL. The teams will include a mix of top Indian national teams players, players from various states, and a slew of top international players for the inaugural season. Indian volleyball is poised to achieve rapid progress in both the domestic and international markets.

    "It is monumental for Indian Volleyball; we are happy to have a globally known brand like Discovery on board with us. We are confident that they will assist us in taking the league to new heights, and together, we hope to elevate the sport's standard as one of the top international volleyball leagues in the world in the near future." said, Member of Parliament and President, Volleyball Federation of India Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta.

    Ramavtar Singh Jakhar, Zonal Executive Vice-President of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) and Chairman of the Indian Volleyball League, expressed his delight that Eurosport India, Discovery Network's premium sports channel, is partnering with the Indian Volleyball League, which he believes will help to develop the sport of volleyball in India. He also stated that young volleyball players in India will gain much from the league and that it will undoubtedly become a rousing success in India and beyond.

    The proposed Indian Volleyball League will be an annual event on the global volleyball calendar. It will soon announce the process for applying for new franchise ownership on the official website of the Indian Volleyball League& Volleyball Federation of India. The league will also be streamed LIVE on the discovery+ app for the viewers.
