WPL 2024 Eliminator: RCB Bank on Consistency; MI Hope to Repeat History

Royal Challengers Bangalore will be optimistic about their chances of defeating the defending champions...

Digital Desk: Going into the elimination match against the same opponent, Mumbai Indians will take their most recent league stage loss to RCB as a positive sign. Ellyse Perry took six wickets in a row to go down the MI batting order, leaving them shaken for 113. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led team, nevertheless, is not too phased by the crushing and has optimistic expectations for the elimination round.

On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore trained in a casual manner at the MAK Pataudi Sports Complex before of the Eliminator and would be optimistic about their chances of defeating the defending champions again following their blowout thrashing of MI in their most recent league encounter.

Before facing off again in the elimination round, MI and RCB played a few games, giving MI enough time to mend the injuries. Perry's thrashing will still be raw, and RCB will try to target the already wounded portion of MI's batting lineup. This year, MI's batting lineup has struggled mightily at times and has shown inconsistent performance.

MI failed to qualify directly for the championship game for the second consecutive season. They played the eliminator and went on to win the inaugural championship, so this shouldn't dampen their enthusiasm too much.
