This prestigious announcement was made by the International Cricket Council (ICC) ahead of the much-anticipated tournament.
Tendulkar, who holds numerous records in cricket, including the highest run-scorer of all time in One Day Internationals (ODIs), will have the privilege of walking out with the Men's Cricket World Cup Trophy before the opening match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, officially inaugurating the tournament.
