Digital Desk: The biggest boot from Kozhikode left from Kochi to Qatar to be part of FIFA World Cup. Earlier, scores of people flocked to Kozhikode beach to see the unveiling of the giant football boot. The largest football boot was created by Curator M.Dileef and his team for I Max, India's leading Biriyani Rice Factory. The shoe weighs 50 kg and measures 17 feet in length.

The sneaker was unveiled by Calicut Deputy Mayor Muzaffar Ahamed and former Kerala team captain Asif Saheer. Later, Askar Rehman accepted the sneaker on behalf of the youth charity Focus International.

The boot will be launched in Qatar and is anticipated to be on display at numerous football fan destinations. The organisers are certain that the project will be entered into the Guinness Book of Records due to its unique characteristics and the information provided for the fulfilment of formalities required by the Guinness Book.

Kerala minister Ahamed Devarkovil said, "This is the Malayalee's gift to the FIFA World Cup." He added that the big boot and World Cup stand for world peace. Calicut Deputy Mayor V. Muzafar ahamed expressed his delight at the huge aim of kicking Calicut out of such a historical trap.

In another intriguing development, a blogger from Kerala has embarked on a solo trip to Qatar to witness the World Cup. Naaji Noushi, a 34-year-old resident of Kannur and a supporter of the Argentina team, is a mother of five. State Transport Minister Antony Raju signalled the beginning of her independent trip in Kannur two days ago.

"Family support is the fuel for this adventure. My adventurous travels are always encouraged by my hubby Noushad. My mother looks after my five kids while I'm on long trips. All ladies would feel more confident as a result," Naaji said before leaving.

Meanwhile, several soccer clubs in Kerala's northern districts, particularly in Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Kannur, are planning "friendly" matches in which the national fan groups of each country will compete against one another.

"The World Cup season has traditionally been a time when football fervour is at its peak and a whole neighbourhood and its residents become involved. Malappuram stadiums will be filled with spectators watching the games on large screens. This time won't be any different from the last," said Shakeer, a Manjeri resident and member of the Brazil fan club.

Majeed Pulikkal, the event coordinator, presided over the event. Attendees included  CP Abdul Warish, Chairman, I Max Rice Industries, P.S. Rakesh, Calicut Press Club Secretary, Zubair kolakkadan Calicut Chapter President, C.I. Baburaj, Dr. Anwar, MD Iqra hospital, Muhammad Ali, Chairman Parrison Group, Basheer, Secretary Food Grains Association. The biggest boot was made with materials like leather, fibre, reccin, foam, and acrylic board.
