    Athletes from Haryana dominate the 36th National Games
    In the 36th National Games, Haryana won the most medals with a total of 16 medals, including 9 gold ones.

    Digital Desk:  The 36th National Games are being dominated by athletes from Haryana, who have won 16 medals in a variety of sports, including wrestling, which is the state's favourite sport. They have also added some surprise by winning gold in rugby.

    With 9 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals, Haryana continues to lead the national games hosted in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

    The chief minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, congratulated the medal winners and stated that Haryana has today established a remarkable impact in the sports world only due to the players' dedication and hard work.

    The CM stated, "I hope that state's players will keep the pride of the tricolour high and will continue to make the country and the state proud by producing outstanding performance.

    Sandeep Singh, the minister of state for sports and youth affairs, also praised the athletes on their accomplishments.

    5 gold medals for wrestlers

    Wrestling is the state's favourite sport, and Haryana has won 5 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals in it.

    Haryana's Sunil won the gold medal in the 87 kg Greco-Roman division by defeating Harpreet Singh of Punjab, while Haryana's Ashu won the gold in the 67 kg Greco-Roman division by defeating Karanjeet Singh of Punjab.

    Similar to that, Deepak of Haryana defeated Sahil of Punjab to win the gold medal in the 97 kg freestyle division. Parveen Kumar of Haryana won the bronze medal in the same division.

    The final match in the 57 kg freestyle division featured athletes from Haryana, and Aman took home the gold medal while Udit took home the silver.

    Manisha from Haryana won the gold medal in the 62 kg freestyle girls' wrestling match by defeating Shafali, who was also a Haryana native. In addition, Reetika from Haryana took home the bronze in the 76 kg freestyle division.

    Haryana wins a rugby gold medal.

    In the rugby match, the Haryana team stunned everyone by defeating Maharashtra by a lopsided score of 19-7 to take home the state's gold medal.

    Both the boys' and girls' teams brought honour to the state by winning gold medals in the netball team competition. 

    In addition, Soumyajit Ghosh earned a silver medal in the boys' singles table tennis competition, Manpreet Kaur got a bronze medal in the shot put, and Renu Chikara won a bronze medal in the hammer throw. Haryana's Anish won the gold medal in the 25-meter rapid-fire pistol.
