‘Even in a room full of people who love me, I’ve felt alone’: Virat Kohli over his mental health
Currently, Kohli's cricket career is at a low point. He hasn't scored a hundred since November 2019 and has struggled with the willow for more than two years.

Digital Desk: The former India National Cricket Team captain, Virat Kohli, is all set to play in the upcoming 2022 Asia Cup, which begins August 27, after giving the Zimbabwe and West Indies tours a miss.

However, in a recent interview, Virat Kohli revealed that he has mental health problems and claimed that, despite being surrounded by those who love and support him, there have been times when he felt alone.

Currently, Kohli's cricket career is at a low point. He hasn't scored a hundred since November 2019 and has struggled with the willow for more than two years.

The last time Kohli played for the Indian National Cricket Team was during the team's tour to England, although he is currently on vacation.

The 33-year-old was benched for the West Indies tour after struggling with the bat during the England series, where Kohli recorded the highest score of 20 across six innings.

Additionally, he won't be participating in the upcoming Zimbabwe tour and will make a comeback at the Asia Cup in 2022.

In an interview with The Indian Express, Kohli discussed the significance of paying attention to mental health. He claimed that ongoing stress can adversely impact mental health.

Kohli in the interview said, "For an athlete, the sport can bring out the best in you as a player, but at the same time, the kind of pressure that you are always under can badly affect your mental health."

According to Kohli, when one loses touch with oneself, it is crucial to spend some time re-establishing that connection. He stated that in order to maintain balance, an athlete must learn to compartmentalise time.
