Digital Desk: After winning two games in a row, Team India was defeated by South Africa in the 2022 T20 World Cup on Sunday (October 30) at the Optus Stadium in Perth. The outcome has had little impact on India's chances of reaching the knockout stages since two wins over Bangladesh and Zimbabwe will secure their place.

However, Pakistan's chances have suffered a major setback as they can no longer have their destiny in their own hands. Even a victory over South Africa will not be enough to advance them to the competition's final four stages. Following India's defeat at the Optus Stadium, ex-Pakistan captain Salim Malik lashed out at the Indian team, claiming they would never support Pakistan and pointed out the Men in Blue's fielding performance to prove his argument.

"India kabhi nahi chahega Pakistan aage jaaye (India will never want Pakistan to progress). Agar aaj Indian fielding thodi si behtar karta to match jeet jaate. Mera khayal hai sabse disappointing ye tha ki aaj India ne bahut gandi fielding kari. Ye catch chutne waale nahi hai (If India would have fielded better they might have won the match. India were real poor in the field those chances they missed were really easy)," said Malik to a news agency.

"Hamesha India-Pakistan ka rivalry rahi hai. Magar jo unjone fielding ki hai no doubt unhone shuruwaat mey kaafi try kar rahe they, josh dikha rahe they, magar jo fielding ki hai usmey mujhe thoda sa hai ki wo kabhi bhi Pakistan ko like nahi karte (There is always been a rivalry between India and Pakistan. They were showing passion and intent initially, but the fielding was below par and I have my doubt that India doesn’t like Pakistan)," he added.

India will face Bangladesh at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday (November 2), while South Africa and Pakistan will face off on Thursday (November 3) at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
