    Ind vs Aus 4th Test, Day 2 : India 164-5 at stumps

    Digital Desk : India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal's 82 runs and a partnership of 102 runs with Virat Kohli guided India to 164-5 at stumps. At the end of the second day's play India is trailing by 310 runs.


    In reply to Australia's huge score, India were in trouble as skipper Rohit Sharma lost his wicket early scoring only 3 runs off 5 balls. KL Rahul looked good for a while but lost his stumps at the personal score of 24 off 42 balls.


    Then Virat Kohli joined Jaiswal and put up a vital 102 run stand together. Soon after Jaiswal's wicket, Virat also got out scoring 36 runs off 86 balls. Akash Deep joined as a night watchman but ended up losing his wicket too. India lost three wickets for just six runs and left reeling at
    164-5 at stumps. 

     
    Wicket keeper batsman Rishabh Pant and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja were batting on 6 and 4 runs respectively at stumps.


    Resuming at 311/6, Australia put a total of 474 runs on the scoreboard. Steve Smith completed his century and Pat Cummins scored 49 off 63 balls. The Smith-Cummins pair put up a 112 run stand for the seventh wicket.


    India pacer Jasprit Bumrah claimed four wickets while all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja took 3 wickets. Akash Deep also got 2 wickets. The five test series is tied at 1-1, after the third test ended in a draw.
