    Nitish Kumar Reddy's father in tears as son slams maiden Test century

    Digital Desk : Cricketer Nitish Kumar Reddy smashed his maiden Test century in international Test cricket on Saturday during the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne. The all-rounder single-handedly rescued the team with a gritty knock. He scored unbeaten 105 runs of 176 balls including a six and 10 fours. His elusive inning was appreciated by Australian players and a standing ovation from Team India players including skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Spectators in the stadium cheered for the young player.  


    Muthyala Reddy, father of Indian all-rounder Nitish was in tears after son's excellent maiden century against Australia. The proud father could not hold his emotions after Nitish smashed a remarkable ton in the fourth test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy.


    Muthyala Reddy was at the MCG stands along with his friends and family members cheering for Nitish. His father was seen shedding tears of joy after Nitish's outstanding inning.


    While speaking to Fox Sports Muthyala Reddy said, "For our family, it's a special day and we cannot forget this day in our life. He has been performing well since the age group of 14-15, and now in international cricket, it's a very special feeling."


    Muthyala Reddy also thanked Mohammed Siraj for successfully blocking three balls of Pat Cummins so that Nitish could hit his century.


    Muthyala Reddy added, "It is an unbelievable feeling. can't express. He has worked very hard for this day. He has given us the best Christmas and New Year's gift. I thank God. Virat is his idol."


    He made an excellent partnership of 127 runs with Washington Sundar taking India to a respectable position. At the stumps, India were 358-9 and were still 116 runs behind Australia. Nitish became one of the youngest Indian cricketers to score a century in Australia at 21 years and 216 days.
