    Women's U-19 T20 World Cup: India Top Group A, Enter Super Six

    Digital Desk: The defending champion India on Thursday defeated Sri Lanka by 60-run at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to enter into the Super Six of the ICC U19 T20 Women's World Cup, 2025 as Group A topper. India continued their unbeaten run at the World Cup winning all 3 of their games against West Indies, host nation Malaysia, and Sri Lanka.


    Coming to bat first, India scored a total of 118/9 with opener Gongadi Trisha hitting a brilliant 49 runs off 44 balls. India were in a tense situation when they lost two wickets for just 17 runs. But Player of the Match Trisha's brilliant knock guided India to a 78/4. India managed to set a
    respectable target of 119 runs for the loss of nine wickets.


    Trisha stood tall for the team when it was much needed. She put a 31-run partnership with skipper Nikki Prasad. Mithila Vinod also added 16 runs in the scoreboard to help India set a fighting score against Sri Lanka.


    After India's batting, Sri Lanka came to defend the target set by Indian batters and failed miserably. Sri Lankan batters could not survive the sharp attacks from Indian bowlers and scored just 37/7 by the end of the ninth over. Sri Lankan tailenders battled till 20 overs and finished the
    innings on 58/9.


    At the end of Thursday, 12 teams out of 16 could manage to progress to the next phase i.e. Super Six.
