We predict more people will be hired for specialised skills as telcos utilise the promise of 5G in network upgrading, migration, IoT/IIoT, mobility, network infrastructure, and network security. The demand for positions such as technical content writers, networking engineers, AI/ML experts, UX designers, cloud computing engineers, cybersecurity specialists, data science and analytical experts, and more is increased as a result of this development, according to Kartik Narayan, CEO of staffing firm TeamLease Services.
However, the majority of companies (88%) believe that upskilling and reskilling will be necessary in order to effectively leverage the technology. Engineers for cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity professionals, and data scientists were identified to be the positions with the most need for 5G technology.
Earlier, the "Unfolding India's Era of Digital Convergence" report published by Nasscom stated that by 2030, India's GDP (gross domestic product) is predicted to increase by around 2%, or $180 billion, as a result of the use of 5G technology.
