Instagram’s Twitter-rival Threads app to launch on July 6; deets inside
The Threads app's additional specifics are not yet revealed. Since January of this year, Meta has been working on the app as part of Project 92.

Digital Desk: In order to compete with Elon Musk's Twitter, Meta's Instagram is developing a brand-new application. On July 6, the app is going to launch. The app has briefly appeared on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store before its official launch. In the past, there have also been reported screenshot leaks that showed the coming app's graphic style. This is what the Threads app might have to offer.

    Limited text-based communication

A text-based conservation software called Threads is upcoming. There will probably be character limits in Threads as well, probably similar to Twitter's 280-character limit. There is no current information about the character limit.

The platform is also expected to be a decentralised application. It implies that users can continue to utilise other apps while still being on Threads.

    Sign in using Instagram

According to screenshots posted online, users will be able to sign in to Threads using their Instagram account. From a list of contacts within the app, users will be able to select who they wish to follow, another screenshot revealed.

The Threads app's additional specifics are not yet revealed. Since January of this year, Meta has been working on the app as part of Project 92.

Pre-orders for the app are currently being accepted on the App Store, as was already stated. According to the Threads description on the App Store, the platform allows communities to engage with their favourite creators while debating a variety of issues that are both popular and trendy. The app will reportedly incorporate features from both Instagram and Twitter, potentially luring both current Instagram users and new people searching for a fresh social media experience.

Privacy concerns have already begun to surface before the app's release. According to screenshots posted on Twitter by some users, the Threads app will gather user data including financial information, health and fitness statistics, purchases, location, contacts, and more.
