Digital Desk: Reliance Jio has become the first operator to offer 5G services in the Delhi-NCR region. Jio today (November 18) launched its True 5G network across Delhi, Faridabad, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Noida, and other key cities in the national capital.
Jio True 5G will be available in the majority of residential areas, hospitals, schools, colleges and universities, government buildings, high streets, malls and markets, tech parks, roads, highways, and metros; as well as tourist spots and hotels.
A spokesperson for the company said that covering the majority of the Delhi-NCR region is a matter of pride. "Jio is constantly increasing its True-5G reach and has already completed a major percentage of the planned True-5G network in this area. It is the only operator offering True-5G services throughout the Delhi-NCR region," he said.
Earlier, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced on October 1 at the IMC 2022 event that Jio will launch 5G services across the country by December 2023.
Later on October 22, Jio Telecom Chairman Akash Ambani announced the rollout of 5G WiFi services in busy locations like schools, churches, train stations, bus stops, and other high-foot traffic areas. In addition to the JioTrue5G service and the Jio Welcome Offer, which were recently introduced in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Varanasi, Akash Ambani noted that the Jio True 5G pilot beta trial had also been expanded to Chennai and Nathdwara (Rajasthan).
