    Digital Desk: A document submitted by the social media site, Twitter on June 26 stated that the government requested that many accounts and a few tweets from the farmers' protest sympathizers, journalists, legislators, and advocacy group Freedom House be blocked last year.

    According to the document submitted to the Lumen database, the government sent the requests between January 5 and December 29, 2021.

    Internet giants like Google, Facebook, and Twitter submit data to the Lumen database on any links or accounts that have been requested to be blocked by any entity following existing laws.

    The database does not, however, contain information regarding whether the request to block a link or account was carried out.
