eBay removes rapper Latto's underwear listing after bids reach Rs 87 lakh
One of the panties made eBay and within 30 minutes of listing, crossed over $90,800 in bids - which some users pointed out was enough for Latto to get herself a "mansion".

Digital Desk: A bizarre listing for a pair of used underwear belonging to American rapper Alyssa Michelle Stephens, professionally known as Latto, has been removed from eBay after the panties nearly reached $100,000 (around Rs 87 lakh) in a bidding war.

Big Latto, as the 24-year-old singer is sometimes referred to, attempted to sell her cheetah print underwear on eBay to retaliate against an internet troll who posted side-by-side photos of her wearing identical underwear on different occasions.

The 'Big Energy' rapper initially responded to the Twitter post by saying "Oh no, it's the panty police" but then went a step further, all in good humour, and seemingly started an auction for the listing carrying the description: “Latto’s everyday cheetah print panties. Used. As seen on Latto multiple times.”
The singer also stated on her Instagram stories that she owns more than a pair of animal hide lingerie.

Latto captioned a photo of her underwear collection, which included five different panties, "I'm going to wear a pair today and sell em tomorrow."

    And she almost did!

One of the panties made eBay and within 30 minutes of listing, crossed over $90,800 in bids - which some users pointed out was enough for Latto to get herself a "mansion".

However, the Latto underwear has since been removed from the e-commerce site, citing a violation of their used clothing policy.
"Used underwear and socks are not permitted, even if they are clean," eBay states on their website, adding that bras are "not considered underwear," even though health and hygiene are important considerations.

Cortez Bryant, Lattos' manager, joked about selling the panties on tour after the sale was halted.

"Hey man, we got a song coming out called 'Lottery,' and when you get something like that, you hit the jackpot," Bryant was heard saying in a video. "I didn't expect it to go for $95,000, but we might have to sell it as merchandise."
