Beijing: After a gap of three days, China has reported its first domestic case of coronavirus. The country saw a rise in imported infections with 45 new cases. China is planning to initiate stricter measures to avert COVID-19 before it resurfaces to create a second wave of infections. Beijing and several other cities have already initiated stricter quarantine rules under which the people will be confined to designated hotels for which they have to pay.
China”s National Health Commission (NHC) said that 46 new confirmed cases were reported on the mainland on Saturday. This included one domestic infection transmitted by imported cases in Guangzhou. Coronavirus epicentre Wuhan, has not reported any new case of Coronavirus for the fourth consecutive day.
The death toll in the country has risen to 3,261 after six deaths were reported, five of which were from Hubei Province itself. Health officials also confirmed that on Saturday, 504 people were discharged from the hospital after recovery. By the end of the day, there were however, 274 confirmed cases, 4 deaths in Hong Kong, 18 confirmed cases in Macao and 153 confirmed cases and 2 deaths in Taiwan.
