    Covid-19: India registers 368,147 new cases

    Covid-19 has been taking a big toll in the country presently. India on Monday reported 368,147 new cases of Covid-19. The country’s total count is close to 20 million. With the rising cases, the new coronavirus-related fatalities of 3,417 were recorded in the last 24 hours. This took the nationwide death toll to 218,985.

    The Union Health Ministry reports the country’s cumulative case count to reach 19,925,604. The second wave of Covid-19 is becoming more deadly, crushing the health infrastructure and overburdened frontline medical workers.

    Currently, India accounts for 17.13% of total confirmed Covid-19 cases. A total of 300,732 patients get discharged in the last 24 hours so far. The recovery rate count is 16,293,003 from the viral disease. This, in total, makes the country’s recovery rate to be 81.77%. The daily cases of Covid-19 reached over four lakh cases on May 1. However, it came down to 392,488 cases on Sunday and Monday.

    India’s condition is getting worse day by day, and people are suffering from oxygen supplies, getting hospital beds and other medical arrangement shortages. The current scenario is rapidly changing its pace. At least 11 states and union territories came forward to impose some of the coronavirus-necessitated restrictions.
