Digital Desk: The Supertech twin buildings of Noida were eventually destroyed at 2:30 pm today with a loud detonation after bated breath and a nine-year legal battle.

The two towers had about 3,700 kg of explosives inside of them that razed the towers to the ground.

Prior to the destruction, about 500 police and traffic officers were stationed around the twin towers of Supertech in Noida. Between 2.15 and 2.45 pm, the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway was closed, and drones were prohibited from flying over the city.

The twin towers, however, were built in accordance with the building plan authorized by the Noida development authority, according to Realty firm Supertech, which stated this on Sunday.

The destruction of these two towers won't have an effect on Supertech's other real estate endeavors, which will continue to be offered to homebuyers, the company noted.

The Ceyane (29 floors) and Apex (32 floors) towers, which were a part of Supertech Ltd's Emerald Court project, were found to have broken several building code requirements.

They were demolished using a 'controlled implosion' to cause as little damage as possible to the surrounding environment.

India finally saw the fall of the Supertech Twin Towers, the country's tallest structure ever demolished. Over 3700 kg of explosives were used to demolish the nearly 100-meter-tall structures in Uttar Pradesh's Noida.

The waterfall implosion technique brought down the towers, which were taller than Delhi's iconic Qutub Minar, in less than 15 seconds.
