Digital Desk: A tiger cub was rescued safely by the Forest Department officials and villagers of Gohpur's Gamiri Gaon on Wednesday morning.

The cub was trapped inside a bamboo grove in the Miri Pathar of Gamiri in Gohpur on Wednesday.

As per locals, they spotted the tiger cub roaming in an open field of Miri Pathar, creating panic among the residents of the area.

The cub later took shelter inside a bamboo grove and got stuck.

The locals of the area immediately informed the incident to the Forest Department and the Helem police.

Acting swiftly, the authorities reached the spot and rescued the cub following a rescue effort.

Animals continue to move towards safer places like human-inhabited areas as the Kaziranga National Park is heavily affected by the ongoing Assam floods, with many camps submerged and roads inaccessible.

Animals have turned regions like Gamiri, Mailbazar, and Roumari into temporary places for roaming due to the current flood situation in the national park.
