    Hinduja Group chairman SP Hinduja dies at the age of 87 in London
    The eldest child of PD Hinduja, the man who founded the Hinduja Group, Srichand Hinduja was lovingly referred to as "SP" by his coworkers and friends.

    Digital Desk: The Hinduja Group's chairman and the eldest of the four Hinduja brothers, Srichand Parmanand Hinduja, passed suddenly on Wednesday in London. He was 87.

    According to a family representative, SP Hinduja had been ill for some time.

    The family spokesperson added, "Gopichand, Prakash, Ashok and the entire Hinduja family regret to announce the passing of our family patriarch, and chairman of Hinduja Group, Mr S P Hinduja, today."

    The eldest child of PD Hinduja, the man who founded the Hinduja Group, Srichand Hinduja was lovingly referred to as "SP" by his coworkers and friends.

    After completing his studies in 1952, SP Hinduja joined the family company of his father. His three brothers, Gopichand, Prakash, and Ashok, are still alive.

    He fully lived and embodied the basic ideas and objectives of the Hinduja Group and was a titan among his colleagues. He was an extremely spiritual and charitable individual who acted with courage and generosity. Together with his brothers, he was instrumental in forging close ties between his host nation, the UK, and his native India.

    He shared the title of wealthiest person in the UK as of May 2020 with his brother Gopichand. He routinely appeared on lists of the wealthiest people in the UK and Asia starting in the 1990s. Hinduja was at the top of the Sunday Times Rich List in 2022. He and his brother Gopichand were listed as the 65th richest billionaire family in the world on the Forbes List in March 2019.
