Digital Desk: A 10-year-old child allegedly snatched Rs 1 lakh in cash from a bank's counter in the Buxar district of Bihar on Monday and runaway, officials stated.

The boy came to the bank in the Town police station area along with a woman who was keeping a close eye on the staff, they said.

The chief branch manager of Punjab National Bank, Anup Kumar stated, "As the cashier left his seat around 12.45 pm, and went to speak to a colleague, the boy snatched Rs 1 lakh in cash from the counter and immediately ran away."

However, police informed that the bank has filed a complaint regarding the incident.

"An investigation has been started, and we are analyzing the footage of all CCTVs installed inside and outside the bank. We are also collecting details about the women account holders of the branch," the SHO (Station House Officer) Dinesh Kumar Malakar stated.
