Through his X forum, Jackson detailed his way to create this groundbreaking achievement just before turning 13 years old because of his desire to prove himself to others. Taylor Wilson became his inspiration because Wilson controlled stable nuclear fusion when he was 14 years old in 2008 and delivered his TED Talk. Wilson's achievement demonstrated to Jackson that individuals of his age can achieve phenomenal goals. set himself goals to achieve the same when he turned 11 years old.
Jackson began his achievement quest by thoroughly studying the scientific principles of nuclear fusion.
Constructing a basic fusor version as his first step he received funding support from his parents to enhance the device. He bought most of his components from eBay and it contained a turbomolecular pump and Deuterium fuel. He rebuilt the vacuum chamber entirely while utilizing Tantalum to make the inner grid. After dedicating 12 months to his research he finally reached fusion when he detected neutrons which proved his work only one day before his birthday.
The Guinness World Records named him as the youngest person who succeeded in a nuclear fusion reaction. The beneficial part was just one aspect among many forms of attention he received. One Saturday two FBI agents arrived at his house to check his property with a Geiger counter to guarantee security. Everything checked out properly during the inspection which made him stay free from arrest.
