Digital Desk: In a devastating incident, at least 14 Indians were killed, and several others injured when an Indian-registered passenger bus plunged into the Marsyangdi River in Nepal. The accident occurred in the Tanahun district, approximately 110 kilometers from Kathmandu, where the bus was en route from Pokhara.

The bus, with the number plate UP FT 7623, veered off the road and plunged into the river. According to a senior police official, the bus is now lying on the riverbank. Rescue and relief operations are currently in progress to assist the survivors and recover the deceased.

This tragedy follows a similar disaster last month when two buses were swept into the Trishuli River by a landslide in Nepal's Chitwan district. The landslide, triggered by heavy rainfall, occurred on July 12 in the Simaltal area along the Narayanghat-Mugling road. Out of 65 passengers, including seven Indians, five were confirmed dead, with two still missing. Search teams have recovered 25 bodies from the Narayani riverbanks and the Triveni Dam area, but only 19 of these have been identified as those missing from the landslide incident.
