Digital Desk: The Mahakumbh 2025 begins from today at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh and more than 60 lakh pilgrims bathed at the Sangam–the abode of Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati. It will last for 45 days,  up to 26th February , 2025, as  the Millions of pilgrims are expected to visit  for spiritual purification which will enhance the local trade circle and economy.

This Mahakumbh has special significance due to rare celestial alignments that takes place once in every 144 years. Other significant bathing dates are Paush Poornima falling on January 13, Makar Sankranti on January 15, Mauni Amavasya on January 29, Basant Panchami on February 3, Maghi Purnima on February 12 and Maha Shivratri on February 26.

The  Prime minister Narendra Modi  extended his wishes, emphasizing  Mahakumbh as the epitome of India's spiritual heritage and unity. As per the estimates   Praveen Khandelwal, General secretary of  CAIT, this event to expected to lead to business  and generate revenue of more than ₹2 lakh crore in various  areas

Apple’s Laurene Powell Jobs, the wife of Steve Jobs and a devotee of Swami Kailashnand Giri has also joined  the celebration, she was given a Hindu- Kamala name symbolizing her spiritual engagement,  Kamala also took a holy dip in the Ganga, and according to  reports, she will stay at Niranjini Akhara  Camp untill 15th January, 2025.
