Attempts to rescue the child started immediately, and an alternative tunnel was constructed using a piling machine…

Digital Desk: There is still hope for the rescue team to pull out a three-year-old girl who has been stuck at 700 feet inside a borewell in the Kotputli district of Rajasthan. The tragic incident happened on Monday afternoon at Kitarpura, Sarund, when Chetna, a minor girl, slipped into the borewell while playing close to a farm owned by her father. More than 70 hours has passed since the tragedy, but officials have
not yet rescued the toddler.

Local and central SDRF, as well as NDRF, were immediately deployed, with the goal of containment of the event. Attempts to rescue the child started immediately, and an alternative tunnel was constructed using a piling machine. Constable Sarund Police Station SHO Mohammad Imran also said that the rescue operation is over a crucial stage now.

Despite these challenges, including compact and moisture-laden soils around the
borewell, the teams involved have achieved the following. SDRF Sub-Inspector Ravi Kumar added that due to the improper ground condition, it took time in the initial stage to execute the operation, as it is very difficult, and equipment was used to excavate and make the surrounding borewell area quite stable.

The NDRF team tried to reach the girl on Tuesday by using clips and could only go up to 30 feet but couldn’t go any deeper. The NDRF in charge, Yogesh Kumar Meena, said that in order to save her, rescuers have to extend up to 170 meters in
every direction. During the operation, oxygen has been provided to Chetna on a continuous basis to understand her safety.

District administration officials and medical personnel have stayed behind to manage the prevention measures. SDM Chaudhary said that attempts are being made prudently to ensure that no harm comes to the child while rescuing him or her.

This has created a lot of controversy   since people involving the construction of  borewells leave them uncovered in the countryside. Bureaucracies are data-indexed towards making sure Chetna is rescued without any harm and taken to her parents. When rescue operations are still underway, the next several hours will determine which teams are moving on in this competition against time.
