Digital Desk: In the early hours of Wednesday, an earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale jolted Assam's Tezpur, as confirmed by the National Center for Seismology. The seismic event occurred at 5:55 am IST, with a depth of 20 km. The epicenter was located 42 km east of Tezpur, marked by coordinates 26.70°N latitude and 93.22°E longitude.

"Earthquake of Magnitude:3.4, Occurred on 27-12-2023, 05:55:35 IST, Lat: 26.70 & Long: 93.22, Depth: 20 Km, Location: 42km E of Tezpur, Assam, India", the National Center for Seismology posted on X.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported, bringing a sigh of relief to the residents. This seismic activity follows a similar incident earlier this month when a 3.5 magnitude earthquake shook Guwahati. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and advising residents to stay vigilant.
