Three members of the same family died during the landslide in Guwahati.

Digital Desk: The Assam government has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to three victims' family, who lost their lives during the recent landslide in Bamunimaidam Railway Colony, Guwahati.

Three members of the same family died during the landslide in Guwahati.

The one-time financial aid will be provided by Mayor Mrigen Sarania, local MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharya, Member of Parliament (MP) of Guwahati Lok Sabha Constituency Bijuli Kalita Medhi.

The deceased were identified as Punam Goswami, Nilakshi Goswami, and Ranjita Bodo of the same family.

The compensation announcement was made by Jayanta Mallabaruah, Minister of Urban Affairs following a coordination meeting with officials from the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), and District administration.

During the announcement, Mallabaruah said that the Assam government is offering extensive relief measures during massive waterlogging in different localities in Guwahati.
