Digital Desk: A fraudster has been apprehended by the Latasil police, identified as Jitu Roy, also known as Dharmeshwar Roy.

He was involved in various fraudulent activities, including exploiting various individuals who advertise on Facebook to sell their cars.

By contacting the sellers, he orchestrated schemes to transfer ownership of vehicles to his name unlawfully.

In addition to this, Jitu posed as a fake IPS and APS officer, using his false identity to rob and deceive numerous individuals.

He also manipulated and exploited several young women, taking significant sums of money from one woman and leaving her pregnant.

This incident led to a case being registered at the Latasil police station.

During a raid in Panbazaar to apprehend him, Jitu managed to escape and subsequently fled to West Bengal.

However, in a joint operation with the Malda police in West Bengal, he was eventually caught after attempting to escape by firing at the police.

Jitu Roy has over 10 cases registered against him in Guwahati. He has robbed around Rs 1 crore and illegally transferred more than 20 cars from various regions into his name.

Currently, Roy is in the custody of the Malda police. The Latasil police will take the fraudster into their custody in the near future.
