Five schools designated as polling centers for the election were torched in Feni and Rajshahi...

Digital Desk: In the run-up to Bangladesh's general elections, a disturbing wave of violence unfolded with at least 14 polling centers and two schools targeted across 10 districts.

The Dhaka Tribune reported a series of incidents, including the Sheikh Sundar Masterpara Primary School in Lalmonirhat's Hatibandha upazila being set ablaze on Saturday evening.
Similar attacks occurred in Mymensingh, leading to the apprehension of five individuals.

Notably, five schools designated as polling centers for the election were torched in Feni and Rajshahi, with the Sabia Government Primary School in Moulvibazar's Sadar upazila being targeted on Friday evening.

In Habiganj, the Dhalaipar Government Primary School center was set aflame early Saturday, fortunately causing no damage to electoral materials.

Additionally, Gazipur district witnessed arson attacks on two polling centers: the Bashtoli Government Primary School in Kaliakair Upazila and the East Chandana Government Primary School in Gazipur city.

Despite these acts of violence, there were no reported casualties.

The incidents raise concerns about the electoral process's integrity and the need for heightened security measures in the region.
