Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar has called upon citizens across India to extend their support to the victims of the devastating floods in Assam. As of July 24, the flood situation in Assam remained dire, with reports indicating that over 7.21 lakh people have been severely impacted across 11 districts. Compounding the crisis, five major rivers in the region were reported to be flowing above the danger mark, exacerbating the humanitarian challenge.
In a video message, Pednekar underscored the immense scale of the disaster, noting that lakhs of individuals have been displaced from their homes, numerous lives have been tragically lost, and entire villages have been completely submerged or washed away.
