On Thursday night, both got into a verbal altercation and in fit of rage Bulu attacked his wife with a machete, leading to her death on the spot. 

Digital Desk: In a horrific incident, a man allegedly killed his wife at Dholcherra tea estate of Borkhola, Cachar at around 11 pm on Thursday. The victim, identified as Pini Goala (32) was attacked by her husband Bulu Goala (39), who was under the influence of alcohol with a machete. 

On Thursday night, both got into a verbal altercation and in fit of rage Bulu attacked his wife with a machete, leading to her death on the spot. 

Following the murder, the residents of the area informed the police and they arrested Bulu, who is an alcohol addict, as per locals.

Pini Goala's body was sent to Silchar Medical College for postmortem on Friday. 

Locals said that Bulu, who works in Mizoram, had returned to home a week ago. The neighbours also claimed that the couple had a strained relationship and they heard them argue on Thursday night. 

The victim's family demanded harshest punishment for Bulu.
