Digital Desk: A horrifying incident of physical abuse has been reported at Rupohi Village Primary School in Lahorighat, where a Class 4 girl student was brutally beaten by a teacher.


The incident was reportedly triggered when water from the student's glass accidentally spilled onto the clothes of a co-teacher, Ganesh Sarkar.


In a violent overreaction, the accused teacher, identified as Habibur Rahman, allegedly beat the young girl with a cricket stump, causing her to collapse.


Despite the child's cries of pain, Rahman allegedly forced her to hold her ears and stand in the sun as additional punishment.


A formal case has been registered at the Bhuragaon Police Station in connection with the incident.
