Mahua Moitra has been accused of accepting money in exchange for raising issues in Parliament...

Digital Desk: The Lok Sabha Ethics Committee called TMC MP Mahua Moitra on October 31 in connection with the cash-for-query matter.

The panel's chairman, BJP MP Vinod Sonkar, stated that the committee will seek assistance from the home and IT ministries in its investigation concerning Mahua.

Earlier today, lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai and BJP leader Nishikant Dubey spoke before the Ethics Committee.

In his protest to Speaker Om Birla, BJP member Nishikant Dubey highlighted papers given by Dehadrai to back up his cash-for-query charges against Moitra.

The BJP leader has accused Mahua of collecting money and benefits in exchange for asking questions in Lok Sabha about the Adani Group and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the request of businessman Darshan Hiranandani.

Dubey stated that Moitra was in India when her parliamentary ID was used in Dubai and that the National Informatics Centre (NIC) had given the information to investigators.

The outraged TMC member denounced the claims as "jilted ex's lies," referring to Dehadrai, and accused the Adani Group of being behind them in order to harm her since she has been unrelenting in raising questions about the conglomerate's practises and transactions.
