Digital Desk: The ruling Congress in Chhattisgarh will conduct day-long 'Bharosa Yatras' (trust marches) in each of the state's 90 assembly districts to raise awareness of its welfare schemes.

Sushil Anand Shukla, the head of the communication wing for the Chhattisgarh Congress unit, said in a statement that during the march, which will be held on the anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's birth, his party will also engage with the public and expose the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which they claim "cheated" state residents during its 15-year rule (2003-2018).

Bhupesh Baghel, the chief minister, his cabinet members, and Congress MLAs and MPs will march in their respective districts, he said. According to Shukla, the yatra, which will be conducted on motorbikes and four-wheelers, will cover a distance of 25–30 kilometres through each constituency and include public gatherings known as "nukkad sabha."

During the march, efforts will be made to reach as many villages and panchayats as possible, he said. In Chhattisgarh, elections for the state's legislature are scheduled at the end of the year.

The Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and senior party official, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, both attended "Bharose ka Sammelan," which the state government organised in several locations over the previous few months.

During the program, the slogans "Bharose ki Sarkar" (government with trust) and "Bhupesh hai to bharosa hai" (if there is Bhupesh, we have trust) were raised.

In Bilaspur, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the closing ceremony, the opposition BJP wrapped up its two "Parivartan Yatras" on Saturday. On September 12, the first "Parivartan Yatra" left Dantewada (in south Chhattisgarh), and on September 15, the second one rolled out from  Jashpur (in north Chhattisgarh).
