Digital Desk: A 24-year-old man died due to electrocution while using a treadmill at a Rohini gym in north Delhi, police said on Thursday.

The incident happened on Tuesday, the police said.

The man, Saksham, fell unconscious while riding a treadmill at a gym in Rohini's Sector 15 and was rushed to the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini's Sector 6. He was later declared dead.

A police officer said that the police were informed about the death and were told that the deceased person had been taken to the hospital in an unconscious state.

According to the police, Saksham's autopsy revealed that he died from electrocution.

A case of causing death due to negligence and negligent act with respect to machinery was filed against the gym owner who was apprehended, the officer cited above. 

"Further investigation is underway," the officer added.
