Digital Desk: As the farmers' protest reaches its 200th day on Saturday, thousands of farmers have gathered at the Shambhu border to commemorate this milestone. The protests are also planned to take place at the Khanauri and Ratanpura borders. Among the notable attendees is Olympian Vinesh Phogat, who is expected to join and be honoured by the farmers for her support of their movement.

Farmers have been stationed at the Shambhu border since February 13, following authorities' efforts to block their march to Delhi. Their primary demand is for a legal guarantee of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all crops, along with other significant issues.

Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher emphasized the peaceful yet determined nature of the protest. "We will present our demands to the government once again, and new announcements will also be made," Pandher told India Today TV. He highlighted that reaching the 200-day mark is a major achievement for the farmers.

The protesters have also called for strict action against Bollywood actress and Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut, urging the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to take a firm stand against her for her controversial remarks, which have previously angered the farming community.

As the protest continues, the farmers have hinted at revealing their strategy for the upcoming Haryana elections. They plan to announce their next steps soon, signalling their intention to actively participate in the state’s political landscape.
