Several dietary combinations, however, might create discomfort and health problems. As we all know, curd should not be mixed with milk. More meal pairings should also be avoided. These bad pairings might either create digestive problems or limit the absorption of nutrients in the food. To assist you avoid these, dietitian Nmami Agarwal provided a list of foods that should not be consumed together on Instagram.

1. Fruits with meals

We frequently eat fruit with meals to provide a sweet flavour to them. However, according to the dietician, you should not eat fruits with your meals.

When consumed together, you may get digestive problems. Fruits should be consumed as a separate snack. Make sure there is sufficient time between meals and fruits.

2. Fatty meats and cheese

Fatty and processed meats, when combined with cheese, can considerably boost your intake of saturated fats and sodium. This can increase your risk of heart disease and have a negative impact on your overall health.

"To balance your meals, choose leaner meats and lower-fat cheese options," Nmami said.

3. Milk with citrus fruits

Acids are found in citrus fruits such as oranges. When coupled with milk, this acid can curdle the milk and cause gastric problems. So, avoid ingesting them at the same time and leave ample space between them.

4. Iron and calcium

Iron and calcium are two essential elements for humans. When ingested together, however, your body will be unable to absorb both nutrients.

Combine iron with vitamin C and calcium with vitamin D for improved absorption.

According to the dietician, certain pairings may not be dangerous in little amounts or for everyone. However, it should be avoided to the greatest extent possible.

A broad and balanced diet that includes a variety of foods can help prevent nutritional deficit and promote optimal health.
