Six fire tenders from a local fire station were summoned to the scene and were able to extinguish the flames...


Digital Desk: A  massive fire broke out at Sunday night in Guwahati's Noonmati area, destroying up to ten rental rooms. 


According to sources, the fire started at the home of a Noonmati Refinery High School teacher named Golelur Ali. 


The huge fire quickly spread to six rooms that Ali had rented out. 


In addition, four rented spaces belonging to a neighbour, Siddique Ali, were consumed in flames. 


According to officials, the flames were fueled by a cylinder that exploded, spreading the fire. 


Six fire tenders from a local fire station were summoned to the scene and were able to extinguish the flames after much fight.


Damage from the massive fire was estimated to be several lakhs, according to officials on the spot. 


It should be noted that on November 23, a large fire broke out in B G Colony in the Gotanagar locality near Guwahati's Maligaon region, engulfing up to ten temporary houses.
