Digital Desk: Last Wednesday a funeral for one of the One Direction members Liam Payne, who passed away last month after he fell from the balcony of a hotel in Buenos Aires. The intimate family service in St Mary’s ended with family and friends and members of the boy band and was in Amersham, located 25 miles north-west of London family service was witnessed only by immediate friends and family as well as band members. 

Bandmates, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson were among Payne's mourners, including his ex-partner Cheryl Tweedy, girlfriend Kate Cassidy, James Corden, and Simon Cowell who introduced One Direction in an X-factor audition back in 2010.

White roses covered the coffin of Payne. He was carried in a horse-drawn carriage, where flowers bearing the words "Son" and "Daddy." His parents, Geoff and Karen, stood next to the horse-drawn carriage; visibly moved by the tragic scene before them, the crowd fell silent.

In earlier years, Payne, father to 7-year-old Bear with Cheryl Tweedy, had battled with alcoholism and mental illness. According to the Argentine prosecutors, by the time he fell off the third-floor balcony of his hotel in Buenos Aires on October 16, traces of cocaine, alcohol, and prescription antidepressants could be found in his system. Three people are under charges concerning his death.

The funeral was planned in a private way so that huge crowds would not gather; however, most fans and locals tried to congregate nearby so as to express their grief.
