Digital Desk: Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jet on Wednesday experienced a technical malfunction, causing the unintended release of an "air store" near the Pokhran firing range in Rajasthan, according to officials. 

The incident, which took place earlier in the day, has prompted air force authorities to launch an investigation to identify the cause of the malfunction. 

Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties or property damage.

"An inadvertent release of an air store from an Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter aircraft took place near Pokhran firing range area, due to technical malfunction, today. An enquiry by the IAF has been ordered to investigate into the incident. No damage to life or property has been reported," IAF posted on X.

During a routine operation, an unexpected malfunction resulted in the accidental release of an air store, typically consisting of munitions, bombs, or other military equipment carried by aircraft. The Indian Air Force has not specified the exact type of air store involved in the incident.
