Digital Desk: The latest weather updates for this week have been released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Heavy rainfall is expected in areas such as Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Odisha, according to the IMD prediction. 

Heavy rainfall is expected in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from September 19 to 22.

According to the weather monitoring organisation, the top five places that saw high rainfall on the previous day are Godhra (Gujarat) with 24 cm of rain, Nithuwa (East Rajasthan) with 21 cm, Pali (West Rajasthan) with 20 cm, Hutbay (Andaman & Nicobar Islands) with 15 cm, and Sundargarh (Odisha) with 13 cm.

On September 19, extremely heavy rainfall is forecast over Gujarat, south Rajasthan, north Konkan, and north Madhya Maharashtra.

In East India, the IMD predicted that West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Bihar would be affected until September 22.

This week, Chattisgarh may have light to moderate rainfall, while south Indian regions like Tamil Nadu and Kerala may also see rain.
