KATIHAR: In a bizarre incident, a huge amount of Rs 960 crore, got wrongfully credited to the bank accounts of two boys in Bihar, reported a leading national daily.

The family members of the boys, as well as the entire village, reportedly remained surprised, when they discovered the strange phenomena happen.

The staggering amount was reportedly credited in the bank accounts of Guruchandra Vishwas and Asit Kumar, both natives of Pastiya village in Bagaura panchayat in Katihar district of Bihar.

Both Vishwas and Kumar, reportedly discovered the unusual thing happen, when they visited the Centralised Precessing Centre (CPC) of State Bank of India (SBI) in their village, to check whether the state government has deposited the sum for school uniforms.

While Vishwas’s account reportedly had an amount of Rs 60 crore, Kumar’s account had Rs 900 crore.

Both Vishwas and Kumar have their accounts in the Uttar Gramin Bank.

As reported, when the branch manager of the bank came to know about the issue, he stopped the withdrawal of money from both the accounts.

Meanwhile, a probe has been ordered and senior officials of the bank have been apprised of the incident.

Surprisingly, this incident has come only days after a similar incident came to light in Khagaria district of the state where a man, Ranjit Das, received an amount of Rs 5.5 lakh in his bank account due to a bank error.

However, Das refused to return the amount to the bank despite several notices being served to him. He was later arrested by the police and sent to 14 days judicial custody by a local court.
