Digital Desk: On July 24, a passenger travelling from Bhopal to Gwalior on the Vande Bharat Express noticed a cockroach in the food served by IRCTC. The traveller posted many images of the meal on Twitter, prompting a slew of responses from others who questioned the quality of food given on Indian trains.

“@IRCTCofficial found a cockroach in my food, on the Vande Bharat train,” Subodh Pahalajan posted on Twitter. He also posted photos of the lunch, including one of a little cockroach attached to one of the rotis.

Railway Seva responded to the complaint by apologising for the unpleasant experience and promising that no similar instances will occur in the future.

''We had no intention of having this horrible experience. Appropriate steps will be taken to guarantee that similar situations do not occur again. ''Please give your PNR and mobile number to us via Direct Message (DM),'' they wrote.

IRCTC responded to his post by stating that the passenger was given new meals. "IRCTC has taken prompt action in this matter and arranged for alternative food for the passenger," they stated. Suitable remedial action has been taken against the licensee, with a clear warning that such incidents will not be tolerated."

The Bhopal divisional railway manager also tweeted that the IRCTC had promptly provided alternate food for the passengers and that the licensee had been fined.

''The IRCTC acted quickly in this case, arranging alternative food for the guest. ''Appropriate remedial action has been taken against the licensee, with a firm warning of zero tolerance for such incidents,'' they tweeted.

The Bhopal-Delhi Vande Bharat Express train, in particular, goes from Rani Kamalapati railway station to Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station. Several other passengers on the same train complained about the food's quality on Twitter.
