Digital Desk: A harrowing and deeply unsettling case involving the rape and murder of a doctor in Kolkata has reverberated across the nation.

Last week, a 32-year-old trainee doctor from RG Kar Medical College and Hospital was found brutally raped and killed. Preliminary findings from the post-mortem examination indicate the involvement of multiple perpetrators, suggesting a possible gang rape.

This revelation has intensified public concern and scrutiny. According to India Today, a senior doctor has noted that the victim's injuries are consistent with an attack by more than one individual. The presence of a significant amount of liquid in a vaginal swab further implies that she may have been assaulted by multiple attackers.

Dr. Subarna Goswami from the All India Federation of Government Doctors’ Association highlighted that the autopsy revealed 151 grams of liquid in the vaginal swab, a quantity that points to the involvement of several perpetrators.

The victim's family also believes multiple attackers were involved, given the severity of the injuries and the force used.

The shocking nature of the case has sparked massive protests in Kolkata, with thousands taking to the streets to demand justice for the victim and swift action against the culprits.

On Wednesday, teams from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) arrived at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata to begin their investigation into the rape and murder.
