Digital Desk : A profound wave of grief and solidarity swept through Manipur’s Kangpokpi district on Saturday night as people of the Kuki-Zo community gathered to honor the victims of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. This terror attack on Pahalgam deeply touched all those in the community, long acquainted with sorrow.
Hundreds marched in silence procession carrying candles and walking from Nute Kailhang to Brig. M. Thomas Ground along National Highway 2. Every single step of the solemn movement taught the painful lesson that one community's suffering extends to the collective heart.
All people walked and spoke with deep emotion during the candlelight gathering by saying,
"We Mourn Together." "We Rise Together." "We Carry Their Light." We Rise Together. We Carry Their Light.” This gathering became a powerful moment of contract which united people against forgetting and fighting for justice through the force of light succeeding over terror.
Solidarity marcher Akki Kipgen emphasized that their protest and with firm belief that this isn’t just about mourning. This is about standing up. Whether it’s Kashmir or Manipur, we feel that pain as our own.”
She continued that the protesters carried more than candles because they brought a solemn promise to the event. Their blood will not be forgotten because we pledge to keep it alive. Sooner or later than expected, we stand tall, unmoved by violence.
Each candle represented more than symbolism since it served as both a demand for justice and proof of enduring strength. “Their pain is our pain.
