U.S. Ambassador Bridget Brink expressed concern over the ongoing attacks

Digital Desk: Russia released a barrage of 57 missiles and drones on Ukraine, targeting both Kyiv and the western region of Lviv, on Sunday. Ukrainian officials reported that their air force successfully intercepted and destroyed 18 out of 29 missiles and 25 out of 28 attack drones launched by Russia, Ukraine's air force said on the Telegram messaging app. Despite several explosions in Kyiv, the damage was minimal, with Ukrainian air defence forces neutralising approximately a dozen incoming missiles.

U.S. Ambassador Bridget Brink expressed concern over the ongoing attacks, stating, "For the third pre-dawn morning this week, all of Ukraine is under an air alert and has been advised to seek shelter." She condemned Russia's actions, emphasising, "Russia continues to indiscriminately launch drones and missiles with no regard for millions of civilians, violating international law."

Moscow describes the assault as retaliation for alleged Ukrainian provocations during its recent presidential election. Poland's armed forces reported that one of Russia's cruise missiles briefly breached Polish airspace during the onslaught. Despite the relentless attacks, Ukrainian authorities remain resolute in their defence efforts, utilising air defence systems to mitigate the threat posed by Russian aggression, Reuters reports.
