NEW DELHI: Tokyo Olympics 2020 bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain’s pair of boxing gloves is fetching more price than gold medalist Neeraj Chopra’s javelin at the e-auction of gifts and mementos received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
While Lovlina's boxing gloves, with a base price of Rs 80 lakh, received a bid of Rs 1.92 crore, Neeraj Chopra’s javelin with a base price of Rs 1 crore, received a bid of Rs 1.5 crore.
On the other hand, bid for Paralympics gold medalist Sumit Antil’s javelin, with also a bid price of Rs 1 crore, went up to Rs 1.07 crore.
The racquet that paralympian Suhas LY presented to PM Modi, received a bid of Rs 10 crore within a few hours of opening of the e-auction on Friday.
There are around 1,300 items on the block, including the T-shirt worn by Avani Lakhera, with a base price of Rs 15 lakh, a stole with the signatures of Tokyo Olympic players with a base price of Rs 90 lakh, the fence used by Bhavani Devi, Rakshak Brand hockey sticks used by the women and men hockey teams and an autographed badminton racquet used by P V Sindhu to win the bronze medal.
Besides equipment and sports gear of other medal-winning Olympians and Paralympians, the memorabilia also includes a replica of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir presented to the PM Modi by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, a memento of the victory flame presented to the prime minister by General Bipin Rawat, celebrating 20 years of the Kargil War, a replica of Rudraksha Convention Centre in Varanasi and a wooden replica of the Chardham presented by Uttarakhand tourism minister Satpal Maharaj.

Moreover, there are other models of important buildings, sculptures, paintings and souvenirs that PM Modi received from visiting dignitaries and during important functions over the past two years.
The proceeds from the e-auction will go towards the Namami Gange Mission, aimed at conserving and rejuvenating the Ganga.
